Brrrr...freezing!

Good morning, t's the last Wednesday of the month (what???!!!already??!!) and that means it's time for our monthly Christmas Challenge at Fab N Funky. This week we are lucky to be sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo with a very generous prize of 7 digis for the lucky winner.
I love working with these fun and quirky images and for this card I chose to use this cute little chap, Snowman Skates, available here. He's coloured ( so quickly!!!) with copics, hat and skates glittered up, then fussy cut to stand in the aperture of my card. I added a few  glittery die cuts and the 'freezing' sentiment to finish. A very quick make, but I'm pleased with it and will be even more so come December!
Thanks for visiting today, why not pop over to Fab N Funky to check out the lovely creations from my talented teamies...you never know, you might be tempted to join in...you'll be so glad you did when December arrives!
Have a lovely day

Delight in the little things...

Good morning my friends, hope you enjoyed a good weekend and are feeling refreshed and raring to go for the week ahead! I had a really good couple of days... a family party on Saturday celebrating my two sisters birthdays (they were born years apart but on consecutive days...worst thing my parents ever did to me ...sooo expensive :) only joking, it was so nice to be all together again. Yesterday I had a very quiet and peaceful day. Hubby was well enough to go to a classic car show with his buddy...therapy for him...peace for me :) I spent the day reading and crafting, so lovely!
I had time to make a card for the current challenge at The East Wind,  I so love colouring these lovely images. This little beauty was a freebie a while ago and I've been itching to colour her up! I used mainly copics with a touch of gold gel pen and a splash of Wink of Stella. I fussy cut the image and placed her on the tag which is DP  lightly stenciled with distress ink . The flowers are die cut from blue vellum and the butterflies are stickers.
Thanks for visiting today, hope the week ahead is a good one!

Glitter and sparkle

Good afternoon everybody, there's a lovely new challenge starting today at Sweet Stampin',  the theme is 'Glitter and Sparkle' and we're sponsored by the fabulous Crafts and Me

                                             Crafts and Me
To make my card I used a beautiful image from Sweet Pea Stamps, which I bought before it closed and have only just got around to colouring. I used my copics and added glitter and Wink of Stella to her wings for that added sparkle, which of course doesn't show in the photo! The die cut butterflies (MB) have tiny gems added to their bodies.
Well , now it's over to you! Time to get out all that lovely messy glitter and get creating, we'd love to have you play along this week. If you're stuck for inspiration just click here to see the glittery and gorgeous creations from Team Jacky!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Hi!

Hello, my friends. Things are settling down now at home...Geoff's continuing to do well and I had time to play over the weekend. I recently purchase some fabulous stamps from Bunny Zoe's Crafts,

sadly she's closing shop but there are some amazing bargains to be had if you're quick! Amongst others ( !) I bought this cutie and spent a relaxing hour colouring her (so therapeutic!) with my trusty copics. I followed a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday, and the bold bright papers are LOTV. The flower is a stamp from Honey Doo, again coloured with copics. Thanks for calling by, I hope you have good week.

The Space race!

Good morning. There's a fun new challenge starting today over at Fab N Funky, it's hosted by our lovely and talented Wends, and the theme she has picked is 'space race'.  Our fab sponsors this week, Sassy Studio Designs, have given the DT some wonderful images to play with, I knew I wanted to use Yoda Honey as soon as I clapped eyes on him, I couldn't wait to colour this little chap!  I used my trusty copics to colour, then fussy cut the image. It's mounted over a piece of black cardstock with stars die cut and punched out of it, which in turn is layered over the green cardstock. I used the cut out black stars on this. I used a yellowy green pencil to create his 'aura'.

The sentiment banners are computer generated. I'm really pleased how it turned out...a perfect card in readiness for my Star Wars Crazy Son in law!
Now hop on over to Fab N Funky to see the creations from the rest of the team...they're out of this world....and enjoy them you will!

Quick update on the invalid...he's home now and doing really well! Early days yet but the doctors are very pleased and the prognosis is optimistic! (Thank goodness)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

It's a Love Thing

I'm back again already with my card(s) for this month's challenge at Crafty Calendar, the theme this time is 'It's a love thing' -again a great theme for those of us who don't particularly want to make Valentines cards! The card above was made using a beautiful image from Bugaboo, one of our lovely sponsors this month. I always think of the cute and quirky images that Bugaboo make, but there are loads of beautiful floral images too, definitely worth a look! This image is gorgeous and stands alone to make a card, I  coloured it with copics and matted it onto a very simple design... I love the way it turned out!

My second card was made using a very cute image from our other fab sponsor, Robyn's Fetish. This image is called Perfect Pear, this time I  paper pieced my image and die cut it with a stitched square die, again the design is quite simple, composed of different sized rectangles of dp, I added a ribbon and some tiny tags. I know I'll find a good use for this one, which I wouldn't for a Valentine's card!
Well that's enough from me for today, I hope you'll take a moment to hop over to Crafty Calendar  where there's absolutely loads of  fabulous creations from my teamies.
Thanks for visiting today.
I hope your weekend is a good one!

All you need is love....

Good morning, this is a scheduled post , have to get things done when I can while OH is out of action!

Our new challenge theme at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'All you need is love' - interprete as you will, plenty of scope here!
I used two lovely stamps to make my card, one I've had for years, a wood mounted stamp from Paperbag Studios, the second 'love' stamp was a freebie with Craft Stamper last month. I stamped them both onto a piece of DP, die cut the smaller one into a tag shape and matted both onto black cardstock, the rest of the design is quite simple. The ribbon was rubbed with distress ink to make it look older!
There's some great inspiration from my fab teamies over at Sweet Stampin' so why not hop over and take a peek. We'd be delighted to have you play along...just don't forget to stamp something!

Still running late....

Hello, still trying to catch up with myself after the fun and games I've had this week! (See previous post!) . Finally spoke to my husband this morning, he's doing well after the op but won't be home until after the weekend, the doctors want to keep an eye on those fingers! He's going mad with boredom already, not even allowed to get out of bed, but not in any pain, so best place for him these early days. I'm writing this post whilst waiting for my daughter, we're off to visit the invalid.

Back to the card...my DT inspiration for the new challenge at Southern Girls, the theme this week is 'Anything Goes', sponsored by SLS Lines and Lacy Sunshine, so a great chance to win some fabulous digis. Speaking of fabulous digis, the image I used on my card is the beautiful Wisteria Enchantress courtesy of Lacy Sunshine, such a delightful image to colour! The frame around my image is hand cut and embossed, decorated with die cut ivy leaves and sick on butterflies which just happened to be the perfect colour, flowers and ribbons from stash, die cut leaves and 'Love' sentiment. 'Daughter banner is hand written.
Take a moment to hop over to Southern Girls, you'll be delighted with the wonderful creations from my teamies, then it's over to you to show us what you can do!

Thanks for calling by

Looking for Mr Right

A little late, but here's my card for our new challenge at Creative Moments, the optional theme this fortnight is Romance /Love, sponsored by BloobelStamps and Crafty Sentiments, who are both offering some fabulous prizes.
I was delighted to receive this fun and funky image from Bloobel Stamps to play with, he's called Heart Spring and is available here. I coloured him with my copics, cut him out and stuck him on top of the die cut heart, also colored with copics. The sentiment is computer generated. The background is made using a MB die, cut several times from a piece of white card. I added a simple doodled border and matted it onto black card to show through the die cuts.

Now to explain why my card is late, it has not been a good week. On Monday my husband had a very nasty encounter with a circular saw. The saw won. He cut 4 fingers on his right hand very badly...severed tendons and nerves. Our local hospital couldn't deal with the damage so Tuesday was spent getting him to East Grinstead Queen Victoria Hospital. They were going to operate that night but a major emergency postponed it until Wednesday morning. I spent the day on tenterhooks waiting for news, finally at 9pm I was told he was in recovery and that the op had been successful.
Meanwhile, whilst walking our Great Dane (normally his job!) I had an accident. A (stupid) woman dropped two white binbags over the wall just behind Mathilda as we were passing. Mathilda is a real wussie, thought she was being attacked and panicked...pulled me over and then jerked her lead out of my hand and ran into the busy road. I ran out after her and stopped the traffic...people were probably terrified of the demented woman standing in the middle of the road waving her arms and shrieking!
Mathilda wouldn't come back -just legged it home-but fortunately the drivers were aware of her and nothing nasty happened. A very kind man- in a-van, followed her, found her sitting on my doorstep, shut her in my porch and came back and got me. I will always be grateful for his kindness, he even went and found the lens that had been knocked out of my specs when I fell and returned that to me! Such a hero, he deserves a medal.

Please bear with me over the next few days/weeks for the lack of visits and comments, now I know that Geoff is going to be ok I'll try to keep up with DT commitments etc, but I somehow think that when I do get him home I'm going to be somewhat busy for a while...!

Hope your week has been better than mine, keep away from saws and large scared dogs!
