Good morning and happy weekend. There's a new Challenge starting today at Sweet Stampin' with the fabulous theme of 'Cake'! I thought I'd share the photos of the exploding box  card I made for my son and daughter in law last December.  First of all I'd like to apologise for the terrible quality of these photos! I made this  card in the deep dark days of winter and could never get any decent light to take photos! The colours are actually a very deep blue and a creamy white to match the wedding colours. The card I used had a beautiful shimmer too, which also is not apparent here!
The cake is constructed from card with liquid pearl icing, decorated with satin ribbon, cream and dark blue rosebuds and die cut ivy and silver hearts. The large hearts are die cut as is the lettering.

Here's the top of the box when closed...

and here's the inside of the lid, with a stamped and embossed message, and a small pocket for a personal message to the happy couple! Not a lot of stamping this week , but it is there! Again the colours are weird, the embossing is definitely silver not gold!

I did enjoy constructing this card, quite a challenge as it's a 6 inch lovely new daughter-in-law absolutely loved it (it's still on display now!)

Thanks for visiting today...for more inspiration  please click here to see some yummy treats from my lovely teamies! Then it's your turn to make our mouths water...just remember to stamp something on your entries!
Have a great weekend

Just Dance

My third and last card today...promise!
It's the start of a new challenge at Fab 'N' Funky, this week our lovely host is Ginny and she's chosen the theme of 'Shaped Cards'. Our sponsor for this is Digital Delights
Digital Delights

I chose to use Ballerina Bobbie, isn't she cute? My youngest granddaughter, Emily, aged 3 is desperate to start ballet lessons...she wants to be a 'ballelina'! Not long now until September!
I coloured the image with copics and added a scrap of tulle over her tutu. I created the circular card using my Crealies Modern Patchwork die set. The papers are from a 2010 Prima paper stack called Jack 'n' Jill. I added a bow made from green and blue tulle.
Well, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog ....just scroll down if you're interested in looking at my earlier posts today.
Enjoy your day!

Still Christmas in July!

Hi again! This is my DT card for July's Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', as always our theme is 'Anything Christmas Goes'. This card was so quick and easy to make...mainly because I cheated! The image is recycled from a 'bought' card I received last year, it was too lovely to throw away! I just added a touch of glitter to the base of the tree, the gems were already there. The rest of the design speaks for itself.
Please click here to visit the Challenge Blog, my lovely teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you and I know they would appreciate a visit too! It would be great to have you play along with us this month...and after all, we're all (or most of us!) going to need Christmas cards!

Christmas in July

Good morning, Creative Moments are back today with a new challenge for always anything goes...the optional theme for this fortnight is 'Christmas'. We have two sponsors for this challenge,

                                                                  and Polkadoodles

I was given this sweet image, Winnie Winterland, thank you Polkadoodles!

I've used copics to colour and added a touch of glitter here and there. I  used A Tim Holtz snowglobe die set to cut the aperture in the black card, placed my coloured image and a piece of 'snowy' acetate underneath it, the die cut trees are stuck on top of the acetate. Sorry doesn't really photograph that well!
Thanks for visiting, it's going to be a post -heavy day from me as I've 3 cards to share..!

Photo Inspiration Challenge at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning! It's been a bit quiet on my blog this's Wimbledon fortnight and everything else has to take a back seat while my eyes are fixed firmly on the TV screen! Went through agonies yesterday willing Andy Murray to win his match...and YAY! he did it! And I'm so delighted to see Johanna Konta win her match....and Rafa  Nadal too!  I'm definitely not a sport or TV addict...apart from Wimbledon fortnight!
Anyway back to the card... It's for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' and we have an Inspiration Photo for you-
I struggled a bit with this one, but in the end I went for balloons, pastel colours and chevrons...the image is an LOTV digi coloured with copics and the chevrons are stenciled.
Thanks for visiting today...and for any other Wimbledon fans out there...enjoy!

This is a hug

It's the weekend...and it's July! Time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar. This month the theme is 'Anything Goes' and we have two fabulous sponsors:

Bugaboo Stamps

The DT were lucky enough to receive some lovely images to play with, my card was made using a little cutie from The Stamping Studio, he's called Little Bear - This is a Hug and he's available here.
I printed him onto kraft card and then stamped and embossed the 'hugs' script. I printed him again, twice, onto gingham patterned paper, cut him out and stuck him over the image on the kraft, then cut just the arms from the second gingham image, shaped them slightly with a ball tool and then fixed them in place with Pinflair glue. The tiny blue hearts are made with Nuvo Drops.
Why not hop over to Crafty Calendar now and see what the rest of the DT have been up to.
Thanks for visiting today, have a lovely weekend.

Shy girl

Good morning, it's been a busy week for DT cards! This one is for our new challenge at Southern Girls. Our theme this fortnight is 'ribbon or twine' and we're sponsored by Doodle Digital. I used a very sweet image, Shy Girl, coloured with my trusty copics. Some time ago I was given some 'Gorjuss' products by a lovely friend of mine, (it wasn't even my birthday) and I  decided it was about time I used some of them! So the base card, papers, ribbon and twine have all been used on this simple design. I added some tiny star shaped buttons to finish.

Good morning, this week is just flying by, i can't believe it's Wednesday already and time for a new challenge at Fab N Funky! As it's the last Wednesday of the month our challenge theme  this week is 'Christmas' and it's the turn of our lovely Wends to host. Our fabulous sponsor this week is

I used  3 Little Christmas Girls to make my card, they're coloured with copics, touches of glitter added. papers from stash ( not sure might be Papermania) A few die cuts and gems added.
I've just worked out that there are only 5 more of these 'last Wednesday' Challenges left this that's scary! You might be wise to make something Christmassy and play along if you want to beat the last minute panic :D

Mermaids for Emily

Good afternoon all, Here's a little door hanger I made as a gift (bribe- to- stay- in- her- bed -like- a- good- girl!) for my youngest granddaughter, Emily, who is 3 years old and loves mermaids, pink and purple. Currently her parents are having problems getting her to bed...and keeping her there. They've tried persuasion, firmness, depriving her of treats, ignoring her screaming...nothing seems to work! We're now resorting to good old fashioned's worth a try! I tell them that it's just a phase and they'll laugh about it one day but I don't think they believe me!
Anyway, I thought she'd like this to hang on her wardrobe door. I cut the shell shape from very thick card and scored and folded it slightly to give it a curved shape. It's painted with a combination of Zig watercolour pens and Starlights Shimmer acrylic paint which gives it a lovely soft shimmer. The little mermaids are an Aurora Wings image, available here. I've coloured them with copics and added loads of Wink of Stella to their tails, which of course you can't see in the photo!  I fussy cut them and curved them with a ball tool, fixing them to the shell with silicone for depth. I added some seed beads, sequins and tiny shells and Emily's name in metal letters.
Hopefully Mummy and Daddy will be able to bribe her into bed with this!

Lots of layers at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning and happy weekend! Looks as if we've seen the last of our heatwave...must admit, much as I love the sunshine, it's quite a relief to be cool again...and to be able to sleep!
Our new Challenge at Sweet Stampin' starts today...the theme is 'lots of layers', so a lovely easy one to play along with, just remember to include some stamping. I think my card has about 8 layers, using random papers and cardstock from my stash. The beautiful image is ' Fae 6' by Morgan Fitzsimons,  I coloured her ages ago and thought it was time to use her on a card! The butterflies are Sizzix Tim Holtz.
Thanks for visiting today, hope you have time to join us this week...just click here for more inspiration from my lovely teamies!

Dream of the sea...

Good evening, I'm back from my holiday...and looking forward to the next one! I love being retired ...we can go on holiday when we like without having to worry about taking time off work, it used to be real nightmare trying to book annual leave!
We had a wonderful relaxing week in a very beautiful part of Devon, a lovely bungalow just minutes walk from the sea...and fabulous weather too! Just wish I hadn't eaten quite so much....
I'm missing the sound of the sea, so this fortnight's challenge at Aurora Wings is a great one for least I can dream about it!
I coloured up this beautiful image, Princess of the Sea, , which I was lucky enough to win on a previous challenge. I used my trusty copics, a white gel pen, stickles and liquid pearls . The 'driftwood' frame is made from a sheet of driftwood patterned  DP, chopped about and re-pieced together. The shells in the corner are a part of the image, printed larger and fussy cut.
Thanks for visiting, hope those of you living in the UK are enjoying the heat's been too hot outside for me...just had to stay indoors in my lovely cool craft room  and's a hard life!

Good morning, hope the week is going well for you so far :) This is a scheduled post for
our new challenge at Creative Moments, the optional theme for this week is 'Flag day'. Our sponsors for this challenge are Bugaboo and Torytale.
I was given this sweet image,  Forest-fairy,  to play with .  I printed the image and coloured for fairy with copics (there's wink of Stella on her wings...doesn't show in photo).  I then printed the rabbit part of the image again ..larger this time, as I wanted to make a side step card and the smaller bunnies would look a bit lost. I made the little tree to tie my hand-cut bunting to and added some tiny toadstools to the grass.

Good morning and happy weekend! A new challenge starts today over at Crafty Calendar, the theme is ' all about the boys' and we're sponsored this month by the fabulous Doctor Digi. I do love colouring these fun images...and there are so many brilliant ones to choose from! I used A Dunderton abroad, isn't he fantastic, a picture of sartorial elegance! I've coloured hm with my copics (as usual) ..loved colouring that shirt!...he's wearing his socks with his sandals 'cos he doesn't want to get his feet burnt...and a hanky to cover his head...can't be too careful in all that heat! The stamps I used, camera, smile' panel, ticket and passport stamp are all from a set of magazine freebies I've had for ages.
We have some lovely new teamies over at Crafty Calendar...they've made some wonderful cards to inspire you this month, as have the rest of the DT. Good morning, I hope the week is going well for you so far...mine is going very fast, probably because of the long weekend I'm a day behind! At least I remembered to post my DT cards today! This one is for our new challenge at Creative Moments...the optional theme this fortnight is 'Birthdays' a lovely easy challenge! We have 2 lovely sponsors :

I have used a Mo Manning image to make my card, I've had this gorgeous wizard lurking in my folder for some time and was itching to colour him...and as I'm really trying to make more masculine themed cards at present , this was the perfect opportunity. He's coloured with copics...loads of sparkle pen on his crystal ball (rather more than I intended came out really fast, must have squeezed the pen a tad hard :). The purple paper behind the image is embossed with a spider web, the edges distressed and embossed with a bit of frantage.

For more inspiration check out what my teamies have been up to by clicking here to visit the challenge blog.

Something old...

Good morning! Seems like ages since I had a card to share, but here I am with my DT card for this weeks challenge at Sweet Stampin'. The challenge this week is to use very old stash....the older the better! We all have plenty of that lurking about so a great opportunity to use some of it!
Most of the things I've used on this card are old...the stamp is a wood backed one, I've had it for years but I still think it's lovely! I've coloured the image with copics and fussy cut.
The papers are old...I think they're MME , again I've had them for years, used them loads when I first bought them and kind of hoarded the rest. The doily is old. I bought a large pack years ago...hardly ever use them! The ribbon is old too. The teacup die cuts are new...magazine is the sentiment, they just seemed perfect with the stamp!
I feel quite virtuous using up all that hoarded stash :))
We'd love for you to play along this week...come on you know you want too could be walking around with a virtuous glow! For more inspiration from my lovely teamies, and to add your own fabulous creation just click here to be transported to the Challenge Blog.

Shabby chic at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning and happy weekend. I'm here today with my DT card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'...the theme is 'Shabby Chic'.
I have to admit that although I love the look of this style I'm a bit outside of my comfort zone, no matter how I try my cards look a bit 'junky' whilst other people seem to effortlessly pile on the layers and embellishments splatter on some paint...everything but the kitchen sink.. and their cards look absolutely fantastic!!!
I stamped the tag using a rubber stamp I've had for years, can't remember the make but the image is so sweet, cut it out, distressed the edges and added a brad, twine and the pearl trim. I cut the butterfly and bee from the bottom layer of DP and tucked them between the layers, added lace and pearls, a few die cuts and flowers tied with unravelled string...meant to add some paint 'splats' but I forgot....

It's never too early...

Good morning and welcome. It's time for our May Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'... nearly half way through the year already!!! I thought I'd made a card for this challenge before I went on holiday...realised I hadn't so panic stations! Fortunately I'd already coloured up this cute LOTV digi image so this card was quick and simple to make.
My little stash of Christmas cards is quietly growing...I'm going to be SO pleased I started early this year, I'm hoping no last minute panic in will be a first!!
My lovely teamies have made some gorgeous cards to inspire you this month, they're such a talented bunch! Just click here to take a look...and then it's your turn to inspire us (...and believe me you do!!!) with your own fantastic festive creations.

...May flowers..

Hellooo...back from  my hols in the New Forest, had a  relaxing break in a beautiful area, everything is so fresh and lovely at this time of year...but the weather could have been a bit warmer!  At least we didn't get much rain...only once - complete with hailstones! We took Matilda our Great Dane who had a fabulous time...she loves holidays! She is very patient with the attention and admiration she receives, accepts it as her due...and a bit bemused by the animals this time, she's not really used to anything being bigger than she is so the donkeys, ponies and cows wandering past our door were a bit of a surprise!
My card today is for the new Challenge at Crafty Calendar, this month the theme is 'flowers', our sponsors are All Dressed Up

Lemon Shortbread

I used a beautiful image from Lemon Shortbread, available here. Coloured with copics and die cut with a stitched circle die, she's framed with a ribbon-threaded scalloped circle and a doily. I made a rocker card and embellished with flowers. the tiny tags are LOTV.
My teamies have excelled themselves this month, their inspiration cards are absolutely gorgeous and you really don't want to miss them, so just click here to hop on over and take a peek. Of course we'd love to see what you can create for this lovely challenge too!

Punch it out!

Good morning...another scheduled post,  this time for our new challenge over at Southern Girls...we want you to use an actual punch on your creations. I've loads of punches that tend to be sadly neglected these days...I used to use them all the time! The punch I used is a Martha Stewart border punch which is a real old favourite. I also used a splatter' die cut (Tim Holtz). The image is courtesy of our lovely sponsor this fortnight - Rory's Graffiti Believe - from Lacy Sunshine.
For full details of the challenge, sponsors and prizes, please click here to visit the challenge blog. There are some fabulous creations from my lovely teamies for you to enjoy, then it's up to you to dig out those punches and join the fun!
